Springspeed Nationals 2011

back to race reports

Shakespeare County Raceway held the Springspeed Nationals on the 14th and 15th May 2011. It was a cold weekend with dull and dreary conditions but on the whole the rain stayed away.

With only a two day event, not many qualifiers are run and in the end Gordon Northway just managed to pip Dan Page, who held it for a couple of rounds. Unfortunately Gordon doesn't run the sponsorship stickers so he missed out on the extensive amount of gifts from our sponsors; £100 and a free pro/et “T” shirt. Oh dear.! He did receive the engraved tankard / trophy, from Miss B Engravings.

In the racing a triumphant Tig Napier came out on top, winning in his usual colourful fashion, beating a real good showing from Terry Robins, who had just returned from a year off with his new engine and modifications. We all know that's not easy.

Congratulations thus go to Gordon, Tig and Terry. Well done.

Thanks to Mike for the report.
