Easter Thunderball 2010

back to race reports

After a cold and windy and slightly wet start, the weekend managed to be completed.
First round of qualifying was brought to an abrupt end when I, Mike Lacey managed to loose a right rear wheel after shearing all five studs off, on the launch. This meant a short clean up of the start line, but unfortunately the rain returned and that ended proceedings for Friday. Due to an uncompleted round, that Qualifier was void, leaving Carla Pittau rather disappointed as at that point she had qualified No.1 Another 3 qualifiers followed over Saturday and Sunday, resulting in Paul Brown, a rookie to Pro/et, getting No.1 qualifier with a 9.302 on a 9.30 dial in.

As rounds went by, teams fell by the way side leaving Keith Herbert against Liz Malcolm on one side of the ladder and Rick McCann against Dan Williams on the other. Rick pulled a red and Keith broke out, leaving Dan against Liz in the final. Dan managed to complete a great weekend, with a near perfect run of 9.605 on a 9.60 dial. Liz was close but just lost out this time. Great to see her in a final, well done Liz.

Congratulations to Dan on the win and Paul on qualifying No.1.

Mark Bailey ran a perfect 9.3200 in his first round of eliminations, winning the eurodragster.com / Gold RV perfect ET, and recieved the £50 for doing so.

Well done to everyone else on making Pro ET such a fantastic class to race in.

Thanks for report Mike.
